The Wild BFF
I have known my best friend for a year. I know that is a short period to be friends and call someone your best friend. But we have become really close that we call each other sisters. She does things that I don’t approve of. She smokes and drinks. I told her that I wouldn’t do those things and she was OK with it. I told her that she shoudn’t do those things cause they could do damage to her body at such a young age. She had stopped smoking the day before The New Year and hadn,t smoked that whole year. Then when the school’s talent show came I went with her and we met our friend “Kelly” there. My friend “Kelly” doesn’t really go to school a lot. But after the talent show was over we hung out at the pick up area were our parent came and got us from. I left before her and as soon as I got home I got ready for my 8th grade feild trip. When I got to school the next day she was wearing a sweater in the hot sun and some baggy capris. She had to borrow Angelica’s because she had went over her house straight from the talent show with no clothes or food for her lunch for the feild trip. I was really angry with her because she knew what she had to do and on top of that her eyes were looking squinty. I knew she had been smoking. But I didn’t jump to conclusions I asked her when we got on the bus. She told me that she did smoke and she asked me was I angry at her I told her YES!!! Because out of all our friends I tell her the truth and support her on what she does except for things that will hurt her future. And it felt like a slap in my face when she did it. She told me that “Kelly” had pressured her into doing it and I told her that she could have told her no and if that didn’t she should have told her that if she didn’t like her choice that she could have gone home.
Now that the summer is here she left to go back home for the summer. And when she called me and told me that she was staying I started to cry. Im very scared for her because of all the frightening things that have happened to her when she was living there before. I don’t know if she will go back to her old self or try to be a better person.

Our advice: There is no such thing as caring too much. It sounds like you have been a true friend to her. It seems like you have been a positive influence in her life so stay in contact with her-call or e-mail her to check up on her. She will need your support in the negative enviroment she has returned to.

I see where comin from cuz dat stuff can mess u up!! But dis is ur bf n she’s obviously goin hrough some things. All I can say is pray 4 her and just try 2 help her change her life around.

July 23rd, 2008 at 11:26 pmyeah i think the advice was good and to her friend she should keep trying to keep her friend out of trouble but dont let the drama stress her out because im sure her friend wouldnt want her to stress to the point where she ends up doing things she wouldnt normally do.
